Obituary of Eugene M. Whalen

Eugene M. 'Preacher' Whalen, age 89, of Soddy-Daisy passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at NHC of Sequatchie. He was retired from Whalen Dry-Wall and was an avid bowler and fisherman. Mr. Whalen was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Manning Whalen; sisters, Thelma, Velma, Catherine and Pauline Whalen; brothers, Raymond and Paul Whalen; sister-in-law, Zora Whalen; nephew, Raymond 'Sonny' Whalen. He is survived by his sister, Violet Jenkins of Boise, Idaho; nephews and care givers, Jimmy and Pat (Linda) Whalen all of Soddy-Daisy, three nephews and two nieces. Several Great nephews and nieces also survive. His request was to be cremated with a private memorial service to be held at a later date.
