Obituary of Emma Sue Burnette

Emma Sue Hudson Burnette, 71 of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 26, 2012. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her books, history, and anything pertaining to the Civil War. Sue was instrumental in closing the murder of her brother, Don Hudson in 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Georgia Hudson; sister, Jean Moore; and brothers, Roy Jr., Bill, and Don Hudson. Survivors include her children, Ben (Leyla) Ledford, West Yellowstone, Montana, Susan (Mike) Southerland, Red Bank, Jill (Brian) Davidson, Chattanooga; brother, Kenneth (Patsy) Hudson; sister, Linda Ballew; grandchildren, Hayley (Brandon) Cranford, Mikel Southerland, Hannah Davidson, Benjamin Ledford, Emma Davidson, Meggie Ledford, and Miya Ledford; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday at Delashmitt Road Baptist, 4709 Delashmitt Rd., Hixson, TN 37343 with Rev. Doug Hinshaw. A private inurnment will be held later. The family will receive friends from 2 '“ 4 P.M. Saturday at the church.
