Obituary of Faye Carney

Faye Garrison Carney, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, at her home. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Bethany Sunday School Class, and a member of Daisy O.E.S. #328. She served as Worthy Matron and most of the offices, as well as Grand Representative to New Jersey in 1983. She started the ministry of taking food to the ICU waiting room at Memorial Hospital, which she enjoyed until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.N. and Flora Housley Garrison; seven brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Brownie Carney; daughter, Lynn (Ken) Taylor, grand daughter, Anna Lee Evatt; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, especially Rachael, Amy, Christy, Missy, and Kristina for their loving care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Darreyl Duggar and Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held as well. Interment will follow in Rhea Memorial Gardens in Dayton. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bethany Sunday School Class and Daisy O.E.S. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
