Obituary of Michael Dobson

Michael Dobson, Jr., 86, of Lakesite, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011, at his home. A US Army veteran, he served in WWII in Patton's 3rd Army after landing on Omaha Beach. He was a Forward Observer for Artillery and was wounded in Luxembourgh during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Dobson received a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart, and an ETO Ribbon with two Bronze Stars. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Gabe Dobson. He is survived by is wife, Barbara Dobson of Lakesite; sons, Joe (Andria) Dobson of Chattanooga, Michael Dobson, III of Danville, KY; sister, Ann Withers of Hardyville, KY; and grand-daughters, Ragen, Hailey, and Sarah Dobson; and sister in law and brother in law, Patricia Ann and David Morgerson, Lexington, KY. Graveside services and interment will be 2:30 PM, Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 PM Thursday at Legacy Funeral Home.
