Obituary of Lawrence Wesley Scealf

Lawrence Wesley Scealf, 88, of Chattanooga was lifted into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great Grandfather and friends and loved by everyone who met him. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country on the front line as a Squad Leader in Northern France, Arennes, Rhineland (Central Europe), and was the recipient of four Bronze Battle Stars and the Bronze Star of Medal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Reed Scealf; sons, Charles Edward Scealf and Stephen Dewayne Scealf; daughter, Donna Sue Dotson; grandson, William Ray Allison; his parents, John and Drucilla Mahaffey Scealf and all his siblings. Left to cherish great memories are his daughters, Lynne (Billy) Allison and Connie (Frank) Dotson; sons, Aaron (Karen) Scealf, Larry (Judy) Scealf and David (Sherry) Brown; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 16, 2011 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Messer officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park with military honors and grandsons, Dewey Robinson, Shayne Scealf, K.C. Robinson, Matthew Scealf, also Keith Park and Andrew Bradley, serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
