Obituary of Harmen Arthur Mitchel

Harmen Arthur Mitchel, 83, of Hixson passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011, in an area hospital. Mr. Mitchel proudly served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. He owned and operated Nappanee Iron and Metal Company in Lapaz, IN. He and his wife attended Burk's United Methodist Church in Hixson, TN. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Mitchel of Hixson; daughters, Barbara (Donnie) Gregory of Soddy-Daisy and Carmen (Larry) Martel of Colorado Springs, CO.; son, Robert (Deb) Mitchel of Nappanee, IN; grandchildren, Ashley Sisto, Bradley Gregory, Tonja Alvarado, Jason and Adam Martel; Tracy Nolan, Brian and Brett Mitchel; fourteen great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, August 23 at Burks United Methodist Church, 6433 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343, with Rev. Nathan Malone officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Tuesday at the church.
