Obituary of Claudda Etelka McKinney Barrett

Claudda Etelka McKinney Barrett passed away peacefully Saturday, February 14, 2015. Claudda was born to beloved parents Claude and Lenora McKinney October 5, 1933 in Guadalupe County, Texas. She was married to her eternal sweetheart, John Clark Barrett, June 8, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with a beautiful posterity of five children; son-Ken Barrett and four daughters-Laura (Darrell) Decker, Billye (Tim) Hitchcock, Ruth (John) Layne, and Christina Hilliard; 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren with five additional arriving this year. Claudda was a devoted Christian and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved and served our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, as best she could throughout her life. She truly was a friend to all. Claudda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Kuhl McKinney and Rocellus McKinney; sister, Telva Colleen McKinney. She leaves behind but only for a time, her husband, children, grandchildren, brother, Richard McKinney, many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many precious friends. Special thanks to all the Angels that took care of our dear mother at the Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center. The family will receive friends at Legacy Funeral Home, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee Saturday, February 21, 2015 beginning at 10:30 am. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. Internment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. God Be with You 'Til We Meet Again!
