George 'Wayne' Ostrom, 66, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at his home. Mr. Ostrom retired from Komatsu as a Q.A. Technician after thirty six years of service. He was a member of the River City Corvette Club and enjoyed cooking, working in his yard and vegetable garden. He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Ostrom. Survivors include his wife, Linda Ostrom; mother, Ruby Ostrom of Cardington, OH; daughter, Teddi Greene of Murfreesboro, TN, Tammi Lamping of Kingston, TN, and Deborah Thimmes of Galion, OH; son, John McGuire of Mt. Gilead, OH; brothers, Roger Ostrom of Morengo, OH, Michael Ostrom of Cardington, OH, Kevin Ostrom of Cardington, OH and Brent Ostrom of Mt. Gilead, OH; grandchildren, Nathan and Dakota Lamping of Kingston, TN and Tori Thomas of Galion, OH. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Monsignor Al Humbrecht and Father Alex Waraksa officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 4-8 P.M. with prayers at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
