Robert 'Bob' Charles Robling, 89, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 in an area hospital with his wife of sixty six years, Jean, by his side. He was very proud of the fact that he was turning ninety years old on his birthday, March 13th. Mr. Robling was born in Washington, Indiana to the late David and Clara Robling but lived his entire pre-retirement career in California. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a minor league ball pitcher, bowler and life guard swimmer. He worked as a machinist and for Challenge Creamery. He was self employed for many years with his brother, owning a used car dealership in Southern California. Bob and his wife moved to Hamilton County in 1980 where he enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Jean Robling; daughters, Diane Morton, Jeannie Kraye and Maxine 'Mickey' Millsaps; son-in-law, Dwight Kraye; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
