Obituary of Georgia Katherine Smith

Georgia Katherine Smith, age 93, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. She lived in Soddy-Daisy all her life. She was a good friend of many and took in several family members and friends to take care of, some for illness and some in need of a home. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Smith; son Billy Smith; and granddaughter, Shelby Ray. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Don) Guffey of Houston, TX; son, Jack (Betty) Smith of Soddy-Daisy; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, October 29, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Melvin Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 5-9PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are by locally owned and operated Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy.
