William "Bill" Flavil Steele, 67, of Hixson passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 in an area hospital. Bill was raised on a farm and attended Tennessee Tech where he met his true love, Myrna. They were married for 47 years. They established a successful business together in industrial sales His second passion for life after his wife and family was his love for fishing. Bill was a devoted husband and father. He was a member and deacon of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Myrna Steele; sons, Tracy Steele and Troy Steele; grandchildren, Cody Steele, Brittney Steele, Blake Steele and Tiffany Weaver; great-grandson, Hunter Steele; brothers, James Robert Steele, David Lee Steele and Carl Dewayne Steel and sisters Shirley Ann Steele Rymer, Carolyn Elizabeth Steele Patterson and Brenda Faye Steele Blackburn. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM EDT on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Dallas Bay Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Duggan and Dr. David McNabb officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM EDT on Monday at Dallas Bay Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 PM CDT on Tuesday at Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville. A private family graveside will be held in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Dallas Bay Baptist Church Building Fund, 8305 Daisy Dallas Road, Hixson, Tennessee 37343. Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy.
