Charles Edward Brooks, Jr., 67, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 in an area healthcare facility. Mr. Brooks retired from Hamilton County Department of Education after 30 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Mary Brooks; daughter, Dama (Tony) Mefford; brother, Gary (Patty) Brooks; sisters, Evelyn (Dick) Kite, Elaine (Leon) Torbett and Marilyn (Jack) Spurling and one granddaughter, Devin Brooks. Funeral services will be at held at 12:00 Noon on Monday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 2-8 PM on Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by locally owned and operated Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy.
