Oscar Mosgrove, 83, a lifelong resident of Mowbray Mountain Community in Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in a Dunlap Healthcare facility. Mr. Mosgrove was an Army Veteran of WWII and retired from Soddy-Daisy Falling Water Utility District. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Mosgrove and Sarah Smartt; brothers, Paul and Jed Mosgrove; sister, Alma Mount. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Ella Jane Mosgrove; daughter, Deborah ( George) Templeton of Highpoint, GA; sons, Michael and Phillip Mosgrove both of Soddy-Daisy, and Anthony (Cindy) Mosgrove of Sweetwater; brothers, Otis Lee, Leonard, Grady, and Joe Smartt all of Soddy-Daisy, and Thomas Smartt, Jr. of Lebanon, TN; sisters, Reba Daniels of Soddy-Daisy, Jessie Vlasic of Prudenville, MI, Nina Koski of Hoquaim, WA and Glenda Potter of Neon, KY; grandchildren, Brandon Mosgrove, Sarah Conklin, Jennifer Mosgrove, Craig Mosgrove and Susie Mosgrove; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Craig Mosgrove officiating. Interment will follow in Granny Walker Cemetery with Military honors. James Lee Smartt, Tommy Lewis, Johnny Skiles, Johnny Sunderland, Gene Higgins and Charles Bandy will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-9 PM Thursday and from 12 noon until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. The Mosgrove family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Hospice of Chattanooga for all of the love and support shown to them.
