Obituary of Edwin Marion Posey

Edwin Marion Posey, 79, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in an area healthcare facility. Mr. Posey retired from DuPont after 38 years of service. He was a member of Hixson Lodge #727 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Society, the Alhambra Shrine, Middle Valley Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecil Posey; children, Sheila Holley and Michael Posey; sisters, Jewell Huskey and Lois Chapman. He is survived by his wife Ann Posey of Soddy-Daisy; sons, Richard Posey and Alan Posey, both of Chattanooga; daughter, Sharon McClure of Rossville, GA; step-son, Tommy Maynard of Chattanooga; step-daughters, Beth Dill of Huntsville, AL and Pam Joyner of Soddy-Daisy; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a special friend to the end, Jack Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Middle Valley Church of Christ, 1836 Thrasher Pike, Hixson, TN 37343 with Minister Larry Clements officiating. Mr. Posey will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-9:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
