Obituary of George F. Smith

George F. 'Fred' Smith, 67, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at his residence. Fred was retired from E.P.B. after 32 years of service and was a member of the IBEW Local #175. He was an avid hunter and Nascar fan and loved to ride motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Smith. Survivors include his wife, Roberta 'Bertie' Smith of Soddy-Daisy; father, George W. Smith of Crossville, TN: daughter, Lisa Swilling of Soddy-Daisy; step-son, David E. James of Hixson; sister, Faye McCoy of Cleveland, TN; good friend, Charles Newton of Soddy-Daisy and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2010 with Rev. Aaron Simmons and Rev. Troy Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM on Wednesday and all day on Thursday at the funeral home.
