Obituary of Gene L. Bowman

Gene L. Bowman, 74, of Hixson passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at his residence. Gene retired from Combustion after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Alhambra Shrine, the Scottish Rite Society, Daisy Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM and Daisy Eastern Star Chapter 328. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Martin and Hester Savannah Bowman. Survivors include his wife, Pat Bowman of Hixson; children, Gina Barberee, Joe (Donna) Bowman, Cindy Brinkley and Robert Brinkley, all of Chattanooga and Julie Cossey of California; sister, Annie (Carl) Taylor; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brandy) Cooper; Jessica (Andy) Puryear and Tiffany (Jason) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Logan and Caden Puryear, Dillian and Daniel Johnson and Brannon Cooper. A Masonic funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 18, 2009 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel performed by Daisy Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM-8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions are made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
