Obituary of Fred E. Leonard

Fred E. Leonard D.D., 66, of Hixson passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009. Mr. Leonard was a Pastor and Evangelist who touched many lives with his ministry and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a wonderful man and loved his wife, Penny, his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Leonard and Gary Leonard. Survivors include his wife, Penny Leonard, daughters, Charlene Leonard Hipsher and Melissa Leonard Hill; brothers, Howard Leonard (Pastor of Mt. Lebanon Baptist, Wallace, VA) and Dale Leonard; sisters, Elizabeth L. Sproles, Daris L. Worley, Joyce L. Billings, Ardis L. Jackson and Bonnie Roark; grandchildren Wills Hipsher, Spencer Hipsher, Kaci Hipsher, Lauren Hill Varnell and Isabelle Hill; great-grandchildren, Evie, Mathis and Alden Varnell Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Darreyl Duggar officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 PM on Sunday at the church, 7634 Gann Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
