Obituary of Joyce A. Brooks

Joyce A. Conklin Brooks, 73 of Soddy-Daisy and formerly of Bowling Green, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, February 05, 2009 after nearly eight years of fighting cancer. Joyce was born February 7, 1935 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late Luther Conklin and Edna Conklin Hoban. She was a graduate of Alvaton High School. Joyce was a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class, which the family would like to extend a special thanks to for all their love and prayers. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, H. Bryant Brooks, Jr. Loving and missing her are her son, Steven Bryant Brooks of Marietta, GA; daughter, Cheryl Ann and husband Kenneth Smith of Soddy-Daisy; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Katherine and husband Corey Bennett and Michelle Smith and great-granddaughter, Abigail Bennett. sisters, Emma Jane Conklin Gollotte and Beverly Harris Sword, both of Bowling Green, KY and Elaine Conklin Cherches of Austin, TX as well as a nephew, nieces, great nephews, a niece and many friends. Funeral Services will be 6:00 PM, Monday, February 9, 2009 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel, Soddy-Daisy, TN with Dr. David McNabb officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held in Bowling Green, Kentucky at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Bloch Memorial Chapel in Fairview Cemetery #1. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service in the cemetery chapel. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and especially Nurse Amy for their love and support.
