Kenneth Max Reed, 83, of Chattanooga passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 in an area health care facility. Mr. Reed retired from Conoco Oil Company as a district manager and was of the Lutheran faith. His career spanned several decades and multiple industries, but he will most be remembered by his family for his unfailing sense of humor, his work ethic and his guiding principle: if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Reed; parents, Robert and Eunice Reed; brothers, Tom and George Reed. Survivors include his sons, Steven (Brenda) Reed of South Carolina and John (Sandy) Reed of Ohio; daughters, Cheryl (Frank) Partyka of North Carolina, Michelle (Bob) Baker Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee and Gaile (Ian) Timmins of North Carolina; sisters, Carrie Thayer of Wyoming and Lorrain Lorenzen of Washington; grandchildren, Rob Reed, Bryan Partyka, Kelly Wenzel, Eric Baker, Shannon Baker and Taylor Rana; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Heidi, Addison, Andrew and Audra; sisters-in-law, Ardys Reed of Indiana and Helen Reed of Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Life Care Center of Red Bank for the excellent and compassionate care they gave their father in the last days of his life.
