Obituary of James O Elsea

James Otis Elsea, 70, of Soddy-Daisy, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13th, 2023. James lived in Soddy-Daisy most of his life. He retired from Hamilton County Parks and Recreation as a maintenance supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church. He was a simple man that loved his family and just getting in his truck to ride around. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda Elsea, parents, Boyd and Julia Elsea, son, Jeffery Elsea, sisters, Lola Randolph, Judy Luna and Elizabeth Elsea, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vivian and Herman Barbee. Survivors include his son, Michael (Hannah) Elsea, daughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Curtis, brothers, Ronnie (Pam) Elsea, Willard (Gail) Elsea, daughter-in-law, Crystal Elsea, grandchildren, Chase, Brooke, Eli, Christopher, Jacobb, Gavin, Trey, Brinly, Draik, Grayson, Connor, Murphy and Dyana and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Conoway and Rev. Don Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
