Obituary of Jane Oden Gochenour

Jane Oden Gochenour,68, of Soddy-Daisy went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. She was born May 7, 1949 in New Market, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her son, George Gochenour, Jr.; father, Frederick Oden; and sister, Jacqueline Bazzle.
The daughter of Frederick and Margaret Anne Oden, Jane grew up and attended school at Shenandoah County, Virginia graduating from Stonewall Jackson High School and Triplett Tech in Mt. Jackson, Virginia in 1967. On August 31, 1968, Jane married George Walter Gochenour.
George is left to cherish her memory along with her daughters, Gwen (Jeff) Parrott and Frances Thompson; mother, Margaret Oden; granddaughters, Cierra Walker and Mackinzie Parrott; and brother, Paul Oden.
Jane worked at Hixson Middle School for 22 years doing what she loved, working with children and also spent time as a daycare teacher at Tree House Learning Center and Child Care Network.
She was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and attended the Sam McConnell Sunday school class.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Memorial Hospital Oncology Floor and Hospice of Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Hon. Clarence Shattuck officiating. . The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends donate to Hospice of Chattanooga or to the Sam McConnell class at Hixson UMC in Jane's memory.
