Obituary of Gloria Jean Elliott
Please share a memory of Gloria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gloria J. Elliott, 95, of Soddy-Daisy, TN went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 23, 2024, after battling an extended illness.
Ms. Elliott was a devoted wife, mother and well known among her friends and family for always displaying a sweet spirit, rarely if ever having an unkind thought or word for others.
A member of Bayside Baptist Church and the Son Worshippers Sunday School Class in Harrison, TN, she was born on August 11, 1929, in Martins Ferry, OH where she met the love of her life, Charles W. Elliott. They were married August 31, 1945, in Wheeling, WV shortly after Mr. Elliott was discharged from the U. S. Navy following service in WWII.
The Elliott’s were blessed with four children, Charlotte, Sandra, Scott and Deborah. The family resided in Michigan, South Carolina, North Carolina, Connecticut, Tennessee and New Jersey as Mr. Elliott moved up the corporate ladder as an executive with a Fortune 500 firm. Through it all, Ms. Elliott supported her family as a devoted stay-at-home mother and wife. She cheerfully played the roles of hospital volunteer, den mother, team mother and many more. Ms. Elliott was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Lake Chickamauga is where they often boated and enjoyed some of the happiest times of their 72 years of marriage.
Ms. Elliott was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elliott, her mother, Emma Quinn, father, Dewey Campbell, her siblings, Ralph Campbell, Jim Campbell and Evelyn Parretta and her grandson, Anthony Tedesco, Jr.
She is survived by her four children, Charlotte Nabors, Sandra Tedesco, Dr. Scott (Claudia) Elliott and Deborah (Jeff) Wheeler, eight grandchildren, Laura (Frank) Hughes, Craig Nabors, Debra (Paul) Franco, Charles (Meredith) Nabors, Stacie (Brandon) Lewis, Jason (Amy) Wheeler, Scotty (Alana) Elliott and Zachary (Mel) Wheeler as well as several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
When the family can arrange a time to be together, they will be holding a private memorial service.
