I'm so lost for words to hear this. I just found out and I'm so shocked and saddened by this news. I knew Tonia from Allen Elementary her son Jared went to school with my son. We talked often and she was so sweet. Bless her children and family for the loss of two good people. Prayers and thoughts go out to their family during this time of need. RIP Tonia and Bart

I met Tonia at Allen Elementary. She was the sweetest lady and was so beautiful too. My daughter is 22 years old now and our paths did not cross often but when we saw each other it was such a delight. I will cherish all the hugs we shared. My deepest sympathy to their family.

I did not know Tonia & Bart until the evening of their passing. I am forever connected to them by chance. I was driving home to Pikeville from work in Chattanooga on highway 27 on Sunday evening. I work in Chattanooga at ParkRidge Medical Center as a nurse there. I passed the crash site prior to EMS arriving. I pulled around and ran to help. Despite our efforts to keep them here, Bart and Tonia had already gained their angel wings together.
I later found out their name and and where they were from. What are the odds that my name too is Pursell (with an S) & I too am from Crossville TN & attended CCHS as they did. I am also good friends with some of their relatives. To the family and loved ones of Bart & Tonia Purcell, I am so sorry for your loss. I can tell you we tried our best. I can see they were loved by many. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
