Obituary of Lawrence John Wright

Lawrence J. 'Johnny' Wright, Jr. 67, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at his home. Mr. Wright was a US Army Veteran and retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local #5. He was very active in Masonry in the Chattanooga area. He was past master at Soddy Lodge #418 F&AM and Hixson Lodge # 727 F&AM. Johnny was a 32nd degree mason, a member of Alhambra Shrine Bus Unit, the Scottish Rite, Hixson OES chapter #310 and VFW Post 4848. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Wright and Alice Hargis; brothers, David and Steve Wright. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Wright; son Tim Wright of Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Donna (Michael) Joiner of Henagar, AL; brothers, Jesse Wright of Soddy-Daisy and Frank Cox of Red Bank; sisters, Sara Millican of Charlotte, NC and Linda Culpepper of Pisgah, AL; grandchildren, Jacob, Josh, Jon, Alyssa and Kelleigh Joiner. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Phillip Warren officiating. A masonic service will follow in the chapel performed by Soddy Lodge # 418 F&AM. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from 2-7 PM on Sunday and from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
