David Edgar Cate, 58 of Ringgold, GA, died on Friday, October 13, 2017 in a local hospital. David was born in Hamilton County on September 27, 1959 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Webb Cate. He retired from the State of Tennessee after 14 years of service. David also worked at Unum. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mrs. Linda Kelsay Cate, sister; Nancy (Jeff) Burns of Clayton, NC, children; Kelsay Louise Cate of Chattanooga, TN, Joan Cate (Paul) Bang of Fort Oglethorpe, an aunt; Betty E. Mashburn of Chattanooga, sister in-laws; Betsy Kelsay Headrich, Alice Kelsay (Jay) Harmon, Susan Kelsay (Mark) Roberson, and brother in-law; Andrew Ernest Kelsay. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Wann Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 15, 2017 and 12:00 noon until the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
